Monochromatic dressing is so right for right now. You can easily go through fifty shades of gray when you’re updating your wardrobe this season.

Shades of Transformation

Keep your shapes short and chic. Silver and sexy are the words to live by, and, not to mention, to shop by too when you’re expanding your wardrobe this season. Take note of all the flirty new silhouettes, like this cropped tank with a diagonal ruffle and tomboy inspired bows knotted at the shoulders. The Gaucho cut gives a pair of classic gray wool trousers a playful kick in the pants.

Kick Back In Style

Monochromatic dressing is chic and simple and hair color follows suit this season. Dark rich shades of hair based on tone on tone color is a must for Fall. My colorist Jimmy Hilton says, “This season for brunettes, there’s solids! I’ve been getting rid of all face framing highlights like Balayage treatments and instead doing rich customized solid colors.”

Natural colors are big in the magazines and on the runways with lots of shine according to Jimmy who works out of Privé Salon on 5th Avenue in New York. So either it be black, dark brown, or light brown, with tone on tone lowlights are amazing for creating the illusion of movement. This is Jimmy’s favorite process now because he says – “Tone on tone is especially great looking when you match your base color with your natural hair color and then add  you a lowlight one-two shades lighter than your base color.”

Stand and Deliver A New Romantic Ease

This is a great pro tip: To keep your color rich this winter for surec come in every 4-6 weeks to refresh color with a gloss for shine and tone. Also L’Oreal makes a color spray leave- in product that helps keep your color hair rich.” According to my super busy bi-coastal colorist he always says, “Shampoo with warm to cool water. It makes your color longer and also keeps it shiny. I always say hot water is just money going down the drain.”
Now that’s beauty advice I can bank on this fall.
Drop me a line and let me know where you’re putting your money this Fall when it comes to hair color and monochromatic dressing?
