I love the transitions of seasons. Fashion, I think is at it’s most interesting for me when I don’t know what the day will bring weather wise.
It’s been a relief the “modesty movement” that’s happening in fashion lately. Clothes are more demure and feminine, it’s a move away from skin tight everything and sky high heels, and it’s a step up from athlesiure dressing which is easy but sometimes misses the mark when I want to feel womanly.
I’ve been experimenting with the new silhouette: high waisted cropped jeans with frayed hems worn under a shift dress or tunic that hits just mid-thigh. Feminine details like lace trims, simple sashes and discreet touches of chiffon for a little flirty peek-a-boo moment. These simple sandals become an every day elegant touch because of the rose gold mirror leather finish. Ankle straps are always sexy if you ask me, you don’t always need a high heel to telegraph sex appeal if you ask me.
The Smartphone-Evening Bag Dilemma
My smart phones have outgrown my evening bags. I know a lot of you have this problem too right? So, even though I can literally hold the world in the palm of my hand through the power of my smart phone – I can’t fit the phone in my evening bag! Cross body bags are a God send. The smaller bags force me to edit what’s in my bag. It’s a great feeling in my off hours not to have a bag that’s practically the size of a suitcase hanging off of my wrist.
I’m on the hunt for bags that do double duty day and night like this one. Fringe and frayed edges are everywhere and the elegant gold chain woven with leather gives it a lady like sophistication that’s timeless.
