Are you wondering what to wear now for spring? Well, what’s black and white and silver all over? Your transition wardrobe from winter to spring is what!

I’m big on restyling and reusing what’s already in my closet. All you need is some inspiration. Last week when I was in Paris, black and white was ruling the runways from Karl Lagerfeld’s post-humous collection for Chanel, to the two-tone collection from Olivier Rousteing at Balmain who is widely considered by fashionistas to be the reigning Prince of Paris.

Here’s my take on black and white, mixing vintage treasures from my closet and the best of the new from Amazon, Chanel, 525 America, Miu Miu,Top Sho, and my new fave secret style weapon, Philip Lim 3.1.

Polar Vortex x Global Warming and you’ve got the month of March on the East Coast. It’s minus 2 degrees one day then a balmy 62 degrees the next – who knows if they’re coming or going anymore? Silver is seasonless. It’s bright and beautiful, kind of like an outerwear and accessories superhero right now with power to instantly revive any winter outfit. For great cheap and cheerful fashion find you can’t beat this $80.00 Kylie jacket from S13 on Amazon. Warm. Snuggly. Totally Chic. Done.

You’ve seen my Topshop patent leather sailor hat all over my Instagram feed since the leaves turned golden last fall and it’ll work wonders on chilly days and bad hair days too until the heat hits in June.

Don’t be square. Round sunglasses are super cute everyone from Pharell x Chanel is rocking and reinventing this classic shape to See Eyewear who makes these in a multitude of colors at a very nice price. These fab sunniest are from Italian label Miu Miu which is the baby sister brand to the covetable leading fashion brand Prada.

I’ll be honest with you, I bargain hunt for designer shades because I’m a fan of saving money, l lose sunglasses easily and if I’m experimenting with a differently shaped frame I don’t want to invest too heavily. Best places for bargains on authentic designer shades online? Century21, BloomingdalesOutlet, Sacksoff5th and TheRealReal.

Want a seasonless dress you can wear to a nice lunch, throw on anytime you want to look pulled together even if your coming off of the beach or going out right after the gym? Try this chessboard midi-dress in a light weight cotton blend that you can layer over a turtleneck or under a down jacket now and with white jean jacket or alone when the weather gets hot.

Chanel single-flap shoulder bags never go out of style. Say what you want, but the look lasts a lifetime time as long as you take good care of it. You can find these bags at good price, like 30% below retail online at places like Rebag or Bag Borrowmay Steal. I paid full price for mine 15 years ago and even though it took a real bite out of my budget, I’ve gotten more than my money’s worth. I may have supermodel money, but I grew up blue collar and I’ve never forgotten the value of a dollar.

Phillip Lim 3.1 is a designer I keep talking about because his work is innovative simple and cool. I found these pearl button combat boots last summer at Sack’s 5th Ave and they don’t leave my feet. I scooped them up the day they landed at the New York flagship store, they proved to be so popular among the fashion crowd that the boots stay on re-order and come in a bunch of cool colors. White is out for spring 2019. Whatever color you decide on, I’m sure you’ll wear these on repeat come rain or come shine.

PS If you want to out try Philip Lim 3.1 – is an easy place to start.
